Research Introduction

Quantum optics is a field of study that investigates the quantum properties of light fields and explores light-matter interactions, encompassing topics across quantum physics, electromagnetism, and atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics. Furthermore, quantum optics plays a pivotal role in contemporary quantum technologies, such as all-optical quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum sensing. Our laboratory focuses on utilizing the experimental techniques and theoretical frameworks of quantum optics to investigate critical applications in quantum communications while addressing practical implementation challenges in current technology. Our research topics include optical quantum information processing, the generation and measurement of entangled photon sources, all-optical quantum repeaters, and quantum key distribution (QKD) protocols. Experimentally, these research topics utilize optical systems such as non-linear optical materials, solid-state systems, and semiconductor lasers. In addition, our work encompasses not only experimental research but also places a major emphasis on the development of theoretical models. Theoretically, we investigate quantum optics, atomic, molecular, and optical physics, and quantum information theory. We believe that by integrating theoretical research with experimental validation, our developed work will not only make significant contributions to quantum technology but also deepen our fundamental understanding of the nature of quantum mechanics.
