DOP graduate degree options include the M.S. with thesis and the Ph.D. degrees. For more information, please refer to the Degrees Offered page.

The master’s degree in Optical Sciences and Engineering was first awarded at the National Central University (NCU) in 1984. The doctoral program in Optical Sciences and Engineering was established in 1987 and the first Ph.D. degree was awarded in 1990. The first Ph.D. degree was awarded to a woman in 1997. In Fall 2011, DOP had 305 graduate students who come from different countries in both Asia and America.
